Going on Co-op & received a “Pre Travel Notification”?

All students regardless of co-op location (i.e. including Boston) are automatically registered within the travel registry. You may receive a confirmation email of your registration, even if you are not “traveling.”  Learn more about why here.

Introducing the new travel registry, Crisis24 Horizon!

As of December 16th, the university’s travel registry system has been updated to provide you with enhanced safety features and a new mobile app. The Crisis24 Horizon system has replaced the GardaWorld Travel Security (GWTS) platform.

Key Points:

  • Already registered?: Current or upcoming travel plans registered prior to December 15th will be automatically transferred to the new system.
  • Access the New Platform: Directly via Crisis24 Horizon or visit “My Travel Plans” in the Student or Employee Hubs and log in with your Northeastern.edu credentials.
  • Download the New App: Delete the old GWTS app and download the Crisis24 Horizon app.
  • Future Travel Registration: You now have multiple options:
    • Concur Bookings: Travel is automatically registered if booking via Concur.
    • Forward Email Confirmation: Email your flight/hotel booking confirmation email from your Northeastern.edu email address to: northeastern@tripdata.crisis24.com
    • If registering travel on behalf of someone else, this is now the preferred method if they are not booking travel through Concur.
    • Utilize this option by adding the traveler’s Northeastern.edu email address on the direct CC line.
    • The itinerary email must be sent as delivered by a supported travel vendor or agency (United, Marriott, Expedia, etc). It will not work if the trip details are simply typed in the body of an email, or if a screenshot of the reservation on a website is provided. A signature block should not be included.
    • Manual Registration: Add itineraries manually when logged in via the mobile app and selecting “Trips” or via the web portal by following these steps:
    • Click on your name in the top right corner
    • Select Profile, click the Trips tab
    • Select Add New Trip, which will allow you to register your travel details.
    • Group Travel: Contact mytravelplans@northeastern.edu for bulk uploads.

Why Register?

It’s Easy!

Click on the image of the traveler above or find the travel registry by searching for “My Travel Plans” in the Student or Employee Hub. Your Northeastern email address is your key to accessing everything the registry has to offer! Enter your Northeastern email address and you will be taken to a Northeastern Single Sign On (SSO) page. You must have access to DUO two-factor authentication to log in.

It’s Resourceful!

Access to the Travel Registry, Factsheets, and Alerts is completely free for all Northeastern students, faculty, and staff! Once registered, travelers receive periodic e-mail alerts about potential incidents or events that may impact their itinerary. In the event of an emergency, the Global Safety Office (GSO) or Crisis24 may reach out to confirm your safety or provide assistance.

It’s Mandatory!

For all university-related travel, all Northeastern students, faculty, and staff are required to register their itinerary prior to departure in accordance with the Policy Requiring Registration of University Travel. Students who fail to do so may be prevented from traveling, receiving credit for the course/program, and/or excluded from participating in other Northeastern global programs.

Taking a side trip or planning personal travel during your university-related program or travel?

Be sure to register that too!
